Heretics! Sinners! ‘Bears’! Oh My: Homo-haters Show Face at Cornell, Then Leave

As seen on the web at IvyGate.

In a previous post, we told you that a well-known group of, uh, “religious” people came all the way from Topeka, Kansas to stir the ‘ol pot o’ hatred in front of — but not actually within — Cornell. Well the good old reporters at The Ithaca Journal have come through again with the first posted pictures of the congregation in action in Ho Plaza yesterday, so I felt I should pass it along to all you concerned folks on the ‘Gate.

(no, I’m not going to venture into a “Ho” pun.)

Hot, steamy pictures of homo-haters after the jump:

And a picture of the local Baptists showing how you’re really supposed to inspire the people:

As it turns out, the group — of FOUR people, at least three related — was outnumbered by more than 270 people showing up, waving rainbow flags and generally “God is Love”-ing them right out of town. The group was forced to stand on the corner of Dryden and Hoy offering their revelations to “Pray For More Dead Kids” and showing their fancy graphical design skills, having taken the Cornell “C” and redesigning it as a vestibule for backdoor action.

We had a reminder just last night that the wrath of God again is pouring down on this nation,” said Shirley Phelps-Roper of the church, referring to the collapse of the highway bridge in Minneapolis that killed at least four people.

The Baptists — who aren’t real Baptists, as the real church constantly points out — also showed up with terrifying fashion sense and startling family values, as the three people in the picture above are Abigail Phelps, Jonah Phelps-Roper and Fred Phelps Jr. Yeah, that’s right, family of head hater Fred pictured in the previous post.

It’s amazing they weren’t simply trampled in the first place.

Any Cornell kids attend the event? Tell us what really went down in the comments. — ANDREW NUSCA
